CHECK OUT BASS PRO SHOP. THEY HAVE A PRETTY GOOD SELECTION OF RUBBER BOOTS. I HAVE THE UNISULATED FOR EARLY SEASON AND 1200 GRAM THINSULATE FOR LATE SEASON. THEY ARE PRETTY WARM. THEY GO ON SALE OFTEN. ALSO, RUBBER DOESNT LEAVE A SCENT TRAIL LIKE LEATHER WILL. GOOD LUCK.

Last year I bought a pair of Muck Woddy Max boots and they are great. Dry and warm. The uppers are neopreme that help in the warmth area plus provide a comfortable fit. Buy them large enough to wear a nice heavy wool sock with a liner sock underneath and you will have no problem staying warm in MD weather. Price was about $110.00 I wear Lacriosse alpa bury for warm weather but liked the Muck over he acrosse for cold weather. These were recommended by friend in Chicago area so I figured if it t=kept them warm it should do ok here.

Alpha Burly uninsulated for bow hunting, and Danner Pronghorn 200 grams insulate for winter time hunting.

I have a pair of La Crosse rubber boots that are shin high and have thinsulate. the boots are very comfortable and plenty warm enough depending on choice of sock. remember to leave enough room for winter socks when fitting. where i hunt in southampton county it is often very wet so having knee high waterproof boots was a priority. also if you're concerned about scent control then rubber is the way to go. I would recommed lacrosse based on my satisfaction but i'm sure there are plenty of other good ones out there. Rocky comes to mind.

I agree with all these guys. I love rubber boots. I've had foxes, deer and all sorts of critters walk in my trail and never catch scent (even minutes after I walked there). Can't say the same for my other boots.
I have 3 pair. Non-insulated cheapies, 800 and 1200. My favorite pair are the Lacrosse Alpha Burly (800 Gr). Very comfortable (flexible uppers) and warm, yet I can still wear them early season.
Get the 18" type. They keep the scent from your pant legs rubbing off on the high grass and plants as you walk, and keep you dry to the knees. (Note: I recommend hip waders for deep swamps)
Git chu sum.

I'll second the vote for Muck boots. I use my boots for recreation and my job so they're more than just a convenient accessory...they're critical work gear. I've worn em all and do believe the Lacrosse folks make a great boot (as do others). But my recent trials with the Muck 800 mm neoprenes left me very impressed; warm, dry, lightweight and far more comfortable to walk in than any other calf-length slip-on. Also, they are cinch to get on and off...something I could never say about my Lacrosse Burleys.

My 1200 gram lacrose boots are great. Its got to be cold to wear them though. Couple years ago made the mistake of wearing them on a 60 degree day and thought my feet were going to spontaniously combust.

I have a pair of 1000 gram mossy oak boots that go up to my knee. The part of the boot just above my ankle to my knee is soft and cushiny (sp?). I just love them except when I try to run with them on LOL. Got them for 13.96 - that's what the tag said anyway. Probably was the wrong one but that's what I paid with no problems from the cashier.

muck boots are the ticket! I have been using them for about 8 years now....most comfortable boots you cound ever put on your feet!...like wearing bed room slippers. I own three pairs... 1 for hunting, 1 for working arround the house and a pair for work that even meet my required z41 steel toe requirments! they are warm and dry and the most easy on and off boot you could own......I can just step into mine without ever having to bend over. The only complaint I have is I had to buy my two sons and wife muck boots when they found out how great they feel on your feet.

I agree with Dean. You just about have to have 2 pairs or more if you hunt all the seasons.
I have a pair of lacrosse burly's . The green ones that are real tough to get on and off.
I replaced them with the Lacrosse Alpha Burly Sport boots. Mine are uninsulated, and are great for bow and into black powder season. They go on easy and come off easy. They are real flexible and you can tiptoe with them on.
I need to buy some 1200's now.
I haven't heard anything bad about the Muckboots, yet.
