mud motors

do any of you guys run boats with mud motors on them. I have decided to give up my big fishing boat and start spending more time on the river.; duck hunting, fishing. the river is small with lots of debris and the occational beaver dam across it. my question is will these things do what the manufacturer's claim they will?

Without a doubt. If you want speed get the hyperdrive. If you want to go where others can't and not use it for speed get the long tail.

I am on my second Go Devil and they are great. Make sure you get enough horsepower, these things are not like an outboard. The down side is the amount of work to run them, your buddies will love the spots you get to, but you will be working hard to get there.

Your right they take some muscle power depending on how many people and stuff your moving around. I have many sore backs depending on how far you go.
