I went fishing today June 15 2010 on the severn river with a young new friend name Ritz and we caught about 200 white perch today. The fish were running about 7" to 12" but no real big ones but nice eating size.We tried to keep all the fish from 10" and up,so my friend only took home around 25 fish. The wind was light at 5:30 but pick up to 15 to 20 around 9am,So we stayed in the coves out of the wind.We used the feather spinner baits and glow-jigs with a float about 24" above the jig.We work the shore line that was in the shade and under the piers were the shade was.So if you plan to go good luck and god bless............woody

Hey Woody you are giving some good reports but it would be nice if other fishermen would give a few reports too.
Got any suggestions how to get more folks to use this site?

Fish.....I've never been on here until Tacklemake posted on the "big" board.....nice to find it! I'll be here and posting as much as I can....Like Tm, I'm an avid fisherman who doesn't mind catching loads of fat black backs on UL tackle, nothing better and havn't found much that tastes better either! Do have a question though.....GLO Jigs?...my go to bait has always been a 1.5" or 2" BA Fry on a 1/16 head.....plese educate me on the glo-jig.

Thanks,
Anthony

I'm Maryland Tackle and I make a minow head jig that is 1/32 oz that glows and has a mirror flash tail and it catches fish.I also make a feather spinner bait that catch everything. You can catch fish without live bait and lots of them.

About 6 years ago I had woody introduce me to fishing with spinner baits and glow jigs.It is an experience to catch white perch with out bait added. If I could go every day I would have Woody take me.I have a handicap in my legs and he helps me get in and out of his boat. There should be more people like Woody be around for us seniors. These baits can catch all kinds of fish in the Severn River. Thanks for teaching me the how to catch fish for them..

educate anthony........if you want to learn how to make glo jigs, you need to find someone like Woody or myself(SIDTHESQUID)to show you how.you need patience and lots of time.I to am a tackle manufacturer but not doing glo jigs or spinner baits.I had called woody and he instructed me over the phone what I iI 2was doing wrong.Found out in a hurry but I only malke the glo jig for myself. The job of making spinner baits is teadius.I find it better to buy them instead of making them.

Is there a way to see your products on line ? I tried googling Maryland Tackle but didn't turn up anything except for listings of tackle stores in MD. I'm interested in your feather spinners & jigs to try and improve my luck while kayak fishing the severn.

Also...what's the best way to work those things ? Do you cast into the pier shadow and immediately start working it back, cast parallel to the pier and work parallel to the shadow line ? slow or fast retrieve, should the retrieve be steady or jerky...should I just let them sink and work them across the bottom ?

Do they attract rays ?

If you are working piers
Do they attract rays ?

Sorry I'm not on line but you can get them at Warren's Bait Box ,Clyde's and Fishbone's. If you are working piers cast as far up under as you can in the shade and let it sink to the bottom and then crank sowly out.If the shade is on one side of the pier then cast down that side and crank back sowly or med speed but not fast.I always make a steady retrieve.I have not caught a sting on the baits but there's always a frist time.................woody
