Anyone have any good Sea Duck Recipes? Seems as though we have plenty of Scoters decoying and very few others flying, may aswell give them a try.

Thanks and Happy New Year to All..

Boil them and feed them to your dog.

Knew it wouldn't be good.. However, with all of the birds taken on the other shore, somebody has to have a way of eating them.

Find a good jerky maker. They can do wonders with seaducks. That's what we do.[smile]

Jerky idea sounds good. It is a shame there not a little better eating. Especially when your in an area that has a million of them. It sucks shooting ducks and not being able to do anything with them.

My friend eats bufflehead...he said all he does is breast them out and then grill them with lots of butter and bar-b-q sauce. It's great having someone who will actually eat those things!

We shot a bunch of sea ducks in south Jersey on Friday and Saturday.I breasted them out and tried several recipies yesterday.THEY ALL SUCKED.

Great action shooting them but no way to eat them....[sad]

Don't waste them, clean the breasts and bag them up and take them to the nearest butcher that handles deer and he can make them into snack sticks, and try the pepper one's there awesome.
A friend turned me on to them from the one's we shot and they were really good.

It is crucial to trim ALL the fat and silver skin from the breast.
Cute the breasts into bite sized cubes
Soak in salt water 24 hours, marinate 24 in terryaki sauce
then bread and fry them.

Or Soak 24 hours, cut into strips, season with cajun spices and
salt and make jerky in the smoker.

The alternative is to save them for dog training.

Wasn't actually considering Buffleheads as Seaducks..we breast them out and either grill them or stir fry them [smile]

Seeing more Scoters and Old Squaws then good ducks currently but, passing on them. If I can't eat em' I ain't wasting them..

The jerky or snack stix sound cool, see if the local deer butcher will do them up for me..

Thanks all...
