A Family member recently went to costco and purchased a huge bulk package of ground beef...
Needless to say it was quickly forgotten in the fridge and before it could be frozen (and saved) the red color was gone and all that was left was a big brown spoiled mass.

So I don't want to pitch it all in the trash because it was such a $$ buy so is there anyway i could attach this to my trotline? small bags of some sort?
i usually just use chicken necks hacked into small pieces... but could i tie on small mesh bags or something that i could buy in bulk for cheap?
Any advice is much appreciated!!!

Just pitch the whole mess. Even if placed into bait bags the GB would find its way through the mesh.
It could start a fish frenzy but if its spoiled, porbably not.

the fact that crabs eat old rotten or spoiled bait is just a myth.
fresh bait is always the prefered bait for crabs,,
Yes you could put it in bags & attach to your trotline, but the effort & time required ,
would be better spent by baiting fresh.
if you just want to try out of curiosity, let us know the results.
if you are serious about catching crabs,,,fresh bait is the way to go.
Throw it out

How long was in the fridge? Just because it turned brown doesnt meant its bad. Ground beef will turn brown in the fridge pretty quickly. Have you checked the middle of the meat: could still be pink. As far as crab bait it probably wouldnt work to well, espec if it is spoiled for sure. I would think it would go right through a mesh bag pretty quickly.

Cook a couple hundred sliders and attach them to your trotline......Try some with cheese and some with onion.
