Hello All

I have a quick question, I wanted to switch over from necks to eels. I was wondering if
it is necessary to resalt them after each use. If so how much salt is needed: Like a sprinkling on each layer as you pile the line in the bucket, or like covering the entire surface of each eel?

I'll be storing them in a cool place, but not refrigerated

Any Help is much appreciated

Thanks, Tim

Place each piece on bed of salt and cover completely with salt. Keep pieces from touching each other for best results.

I take 1lb of table salt. As I put the line in the bucket I sprinkle some salt every few minutes, put the lid on and it's good if I use it next week or next year. 1lb does my 1000' line.

Good luck,
Fishduck

1 lb seems scant. I use 10-15lbs for a 1000 ft line. I keep my eels on the line in a half trash can with holes drilled in the bottom. After I set the line I dump the salt into another 5gal bucket and reuse them. Never have a prom and I kept them in a hot shed.
