Goose & I started out the day taking a walk in the grass beds around 6:30. Goose didn't go far. I think he caught twenty perch 9-10" on a jig head w/ a 2" grub withiout hardly moving, standing 10' from shore. He kept five of the largest in a floating net bag.

Me, I wandered around & got wet up to my chest (big tide this AM), throwing a 2.5" gold spoon. Caught three species of grass (widgeon, redhead, and sago--all great for the river). Kept six perch up to 10" in the other net float. The bite died by 8:00.

Good shoulders on all of 'em made nice fillets. Louise ran 'em through flour, egg w/ mustard, & panko, then baked 'em @ 325 till they flaked (about 12 minutes). Mighty fine way to start and end a day!

Thanks again, JP! That was indeed a great way to start the day. I also posted a report on the main board yesterday : http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/showthread.php/289656-Severn-White-Perch-and-other-Observations

Would you mind breaking down the recipe a bit (e.g. - how much and what kind of mustard)?:chef: It sounds great and I'd like to try it out.

You can take perch or rochfish if perch take a plate lay out your fillets and likely old bay both side and with a mico-wave plate cover cover the fish.Put them in the micowave set on 10 for 5min.If using rockfish cut into 2 inch pc,cut off the red meat before you cook.

Thanks for the report! Are we doing the White Perch Open Tournament next month? I'm game for the tourney and can do the leaderboard again.

Last we we talked about moving the tourney to November since the Perch are so big and fat then, but I really do not have a strong preference. I'm game for a Perch tourney anytime.:first:

Thanks for offering to do the leaderboard, Rod. I'm happy to collect the $ again and manage the participant list.
