Last week was red hot in MD for MR TOM. They were talking well. This week Lockjaw! I suppose the temperature dip is the reason. They have not been gobbling until 10am and the sun has heated them up. Anyone else encountering the same issue?

mon. and Tues. found one talker then the cold front and Nada on Weds. One Gobbler on Thursday morning back home in Frederick. EVERY bird shut up as they came off roost and not to be seen or heard...(Hened up I suppose) . Getting a little frustrated at the moment to have birds triple gobbling their brains out all morning up in the tree and then Ghostly silent and gone! Maybe next week![wink]

No problem in St. Marys. Went Tuesday with at least 5 birds gobbling on roost and shut up around 7:30. Blew an opportunity at Mr. Big right off roost. He got to about 35yds and never saw my lone decoy and never provided a clean shot after that. Went out this morning and there was at least another 6 birds in two groups. Called two toms in from about 500 yds and shot the lead bird at 7:30. After he was shot, I kept calling and the other bird stayed within range gobbling back at me twice more! He took off after the downed bird started his dead bird break dancing routine. Got the whole thing on video! My buddy didn't have a license, so the other bird was lucky. He was also the bigger bird, but never provided a clean shot w/o possibly injuring the other. Birds were still gobbling when we left at 8.

Not a sound from my birds as well. We went out Sat morning in PG county MD. Not a sound. Had a big bird come in quite as a church mouse. My buddy shot right over this back at 30 yds. SO it goes.
Yes they have been very quite this past week. Hope things change later this week.
