Not entirely certain what Captain Deering is suggesting. This is, and hopefully will continue to be, a wonderful resource for folks who love the Bay and love
to fish the Bay. Not certain that anyone can control what gets posted under the banner of Maryland Angler. I, on rare occasions, go to "fishing reports" and
usually find NADA. A recent effort to start sectional boards would seem to be divisive. Why not have the Maryland Angler board for rants and raves about whatever comes to mind and have all fishing reports be posted in that section. This is a wonderful site and I, for one, would love to see it continue and prosper. Hopefully the good Captain Deering's post will bring abundant and fruitful suggestions that will advance that end.

blue................i was talking about that big yellow message that he posted announcing the banner stuff. now its gone.

it was irritating and as simple as that. trying to steal a few words from a good guy.........ronald regan.

mr. Gorbachev ......tear down that. when they tore it down they sold/auctioned the rubble.

this is one crazy place. wow

It will appear every time you visit tidalfish but only once per visit. To get rid of it, just hit refresh when you get it. Boom - there it goes. I always thought stickies were for these kinds of announcements.

Once per visit? So we get the same message with each unique visit to the site? I thought cookies were used to keep this repetitive stuff to a minimum.

Rotating sponsor banners are fact of life with most boards. A useful site tool, to users and sponsors, is a link to a list all of the sponsors. It sucks when you have to keep refreshing until the banner you're looking for randomly pops up.

Get over it man. He's trying to get a message out to everyone on the board. This is a great site, stop being so damn critical.

love the analogy Capt. John. I have a piece of that rubble. Got it from a friend who was stationed over there at the time. He was ticked off that people were actually selling it and making money, so he was giving away every chunk he could get his hands on.

John

The message is meant to be seen, and as suggested, only appears once per visit. It comes up every time, one time, you visit right now because I want to make sure people read it, it's that simple. I believe the message is important enough to communicate to the Tidal Fish community what is going on and let everyone have the opportunity to submit pictures to potentially be used for the header and thus I put it in a location that has high visibility.

If you have suggestions of other topics that should be in the pull down then please let me know what they are. Just telling me that we need more does not help me know what you suggesting so let me know.

I just did a search via the "Thread Display Options" interface located at the bottom message board page, I counted twenty (20) fishing reports posted over the last three days and stopped counting, there are more. I am not sure why you are not seeing them. Are you using that tool to view fishing reports? If you are having trouble using that interface it is located at the bottom of the page, then you choose the subject matter you want to see only and it rolls out those threads. Please also remember, it takes everyone contributing to any subject matter to create that subject matter. But, like I said, I think over 20 fishing reports over the last three days alone would qualify as a good cross section of fishing reports on the MD Forum.

In regards to a rant board, we had that, it was the BS board, it got out of control because some people could not conduct themselves properly in a public forum. This is a fishing site plain and simple and I' rather keep it to that. Once politics and other things get in the mix people get emotional and then all is lost in the way of any positive exchange.

Thanks for the feedback.

Brandon
