I keep a commercial crab pot at my boat slip. I live about an hour from there so there are times where the pot will have soaked for 4 days. I haven't really caught a huge amount this way and I'm concerned about cannibalism among the crabs. Anyone have experience with this? I really love crabs but I can't get out to the pot every day.

Do you own the property/boat slip or just rent?

If a crab molts, the others will eat it. Otherwise the hard crabs generally won't eat each other. You can keep them in a pot for weeks - they generally feed themselves, but they do enjoy a box of lasagna noodles thrown in from time to time. Mine get that if I do;t have any perch carcasses to toss in there.
The pot catches better if it is baited daily.
