A buddy of mine is heading for Myrtle Beach next week and he was wondering what is going on down there fishing wise. I thought someone might have a little insight for him. He is going to be landlocked so he would be fishing for shore or the beach. I will forward any replies to him, thanks for any advise you can give him…

Sharks, sharks, and more sharks. We had great fishing for them while we were there a few weeks ago and some friends of the family were down last week with the same result. We caught small bottom fish during the day on shrimp and squid. Kept them and used them at night off the shore and caught the sharks. We caught the biggest ones we had ever caught and broke off a bunch more because we didnt quite have tackle for them not expecting them to bite as well as they did. It was 4 of us fishing and we would have one on every 5 - 10 min or so all night. Dorsal fins in the surf everywhere each night even when we werent fishing. They closed the beaches for sharks a couple times while we were there.
Good luck and watch your fingers!
