My wife and I have rented a house in Cape Coral for the 1st week in Oct. I would like any info on fishing from the dock (house), headboats, and charter boats in the area. I presently have a Cape Horn 2400 Offshore that I use to target all species in the Chesapeake Bay (Virginia) I will not be bringing the boat with me. Any info in purchasing real estate in the area will be appreciated also.

Thanks in advance!:fishing2:

frito,
I know a little about the area, as my wife and I purchased a home there in January 2009. Our home is on a freshwater canal system which holds plenty of Largemouth bass. I verified this this past May when I towed a boat there. If your home is on a fresh water system, then you should be able to catch bass, crappie and gar easily from the dock. A Kyak or canoe would be other options for getting around. I can't help you much about the saltwater fishing in the area, as I haven't had time to experience it yet. I have family in the area that I could tap for information if needed. Let me know.

As far as real estate goes, there is alot to choose from and alot to tell you about. We tried many different avenues, with many different issues. Easiest to discuss this over the phone if you are serious about making a purchase and I can fill you in on what worked and what didn't.
