Severn River: Small Crab Blues

For over a week my buddies who have had the opportunity to trot line on the River have told me the bite was way off, with reports of 14 keeper crabs after two hours being common. Despite these reports I was getting good catches of nice crabs in the two pots I keep at my pier. Well that all stopped in the past four days. The last two times I pulled my pots I caught probably 20 crabs, all of which were in the four inch size range. Nothing for the table, but it sure looks good for a nice Fall run!
