Howdy everyone,

I have spent the last two years enjoying reading all the crabbing posts on TF, but now I find myself needing some help. I am looking to get out and do some crabbing, but this year has been especially difficult. I had a motorcycle accident in mid June which has sidelined me for nearly the entire summer. Now that I am getting back on my feet, the only thing on my mind is getting out and catching some crabs. Unfortunately due to the state of the right leg, getting the boat in the water doesn't seem like a good option for me. It seems like my only options are finding a good place to do some hand lining or possibly going out on someone else's boat. I know there are some crabbing charters out there too, but with only me and one buddy going, I think its going to be a little too much for us. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good dock to drop some hand lines or is anyone looking for some company on their boat.

In the past I have crabbed off the pier at Solomons, but it gets so darn crowded now its tough to even get a spot. If you all know of anyone with a private or secluded dock that would allow a couple guys to drop some lines, that would be great!

If you would like some company and help crabbing on the boat, please let me know. I would be willing to cover the fuel cost for a nice day on the water and a share of the crabs.

There is a pier at Ft Smallwood Park at the end of Ft Smallwood Rd in Pasadena.
The finger piers at Sandy Point may be an option.
Jonas Green Park on the Severn may have access to crab. I have not been there for many years but they have made a lot of improvements.
The bridge over Rockhold Ck in Deale is a good option for collapsable traps but too high for handlines.
There is a peir at Galesville on West River open to the public to crab from and also one in Deale just down from Happy Harbor on Rockhold Creek. . There is also Tracey Ck bridge in Deale for traps.
Multiple places in Solomons.
Claiborne Ferry Landing in Talbot County can be crabbed from.

If you were two beautiful young woman Id take you out on my Carolina Skiff if you wore bikini's a treated me real nice. Id steam the crabs and give you free brews and let you spend the night too. That aint happenin though.

Good Luck.

How hard is it for you to get in a boat? I'll be going this weekend, but if a skiff is out for ya then there is the Romancoke peir, just get out early.

If you can wait till after Labor Day you are welcome to come with me on
a Friday or Sat. I mostly use the auto-dipper so you would be cullinjg alot of crabs!
My boat is 22' with lots of room & I can bring a chair for you.
I've been where you are now (recovering using crutches) and it was REALLY GREAT when several of my friends offer
to take me fishing or crabbing! I would consider it my plesure & I would be paying a good deed foward.

Wicomico shore public ramp has a very large pier right on the crabbing grounds and has restrooms right there as well...... It's located just past MIR (Maryland International Raceway) on Aviation Yacht Club road......
Good luck.
