It depends what area you are in, but you can get clams by the half bushel or bushel. Coveside crabs has them, and he is off North Pt. Rd. in North Pt. village area. The bags he has also. They are anywhere from 25 cents a bag and up, depending who you are dealing with. The best way to setup for the clam bags is to use a snoodline, and just attach them to the snood every 6-10 ft. depending on what you are comfortable with. ......Dean

Cove side isn't gettn'em anymore,as a matter of a fact you will have to go to the shore to get clams. The bags and stuff can still be acquired over here but not clams. For now anyways

Thanks for the info. BM You can always try shrimp heads. They sell them at Amrein foods on Pulaski Hwy. near Joppatown. That is if they still stock them. It's been a few weeks since I have been there. I haven't tried them, but I heard they also work pretty well. Just a thought.....Dean

They do work well but becareful. Use a nice thick pair of gloves when you bait with them. If that spike gets you, it is almost a garunteed infection, and it hurts like a mutha.

I tried shrimp heads last year in bags on my trotline - I saw NO difference from any other normal bait or worse - Potters use them successfully but rememner their pots sometimes have a two or three day soak. Now Movements is right - the spikes on the shrimp heads are not fun to deal with at all!
