We gave them a try during slack tide on Monday and caught one on shrimp between Cole's Pt. and Stratford Harbour in 6 ft of water.

OK. That's pretty slow. Might be a week away. I tried for some white perch off the dock and couldn't get a bite. Water is cold

still pretty slow. best bite is shallow right around dusk.

I caught 2 last night on shore off the Lower Machodoc and 6 the night before. I;ve been catching croaker for about 3 weeks at least. Just no huge numbers of fish. Seem to be not as many big fish around compared to last year. All caught on squid. Haven't took the boat out yet.
