Got out for a little while tonight just before it started getting dark to see it was a flood tide. Woohoo, that meant I could fish and keep my lure suspended above the seaweed. Caught a couple 8.5 to 9.5 inchers then, bam, my lure got hit and I could tell it was a better fish. Wound up being a 12 incher which felt pretty fiesty on ultra-light tackle. In the picture it looks like it is about 12.25 but it's nose is off the board by a fraction so it is a legitimate 12 incher. I hope to get out in the boat over the weekend in search of it's Momma!

Thanks guys!
T-Bone - Nice fish!
Steve, I tried again this morning and only caught small ones! Had a really good hit and lost my lucky lure. May have to run to the tackle store later because that lure has been very productive every time I have used it.
Rod - Thank you for doing the board as always!

Gentlemen--
Pretty fish, Mark!
Here's a nice supper-sized mess of perch from the grass this AM, all on a spinner w/ grub. The 10.5" fish just above the Hawg Trough was the heaviest, but the one on the Trough was the longest at 10.625" (5/8). That one should get me onto the Best Three list w/ Woody, but it's going to take more than 36" to win that category. Mark my words.
Best, JPW

Thanks JP! Nice work on getting your 3 qualified fish! When the tide is really high like it is right now it is my favorite time to perch and pickerel fish. It is much easier to work above the grass. You can tell from my picture how high the tide is because you can look through the cracks in the pier and see water right under the pier (normally a foot or two under). If waves moved in last night I actually had to run off the pier so my shoes didn't get wet.
