I am thinking about pulling the trigger and buy a new shotgun. Does anyone have experience with both the Maxus and SBII. I know the Maxus is only a year old. Has anyone heard any negatives. I do a lot of hunting in the salt marsh. How are each to clean? Would hate to spend a lot on a gun and it be a pain to clean once I put it through the elements. Thanks for any info.

I have shot the SBEII. It is nice. I haven't shot a Maxus yet, but I have looked at them. I think I would go with the Browning. They look really easy and fast to take apart.

Love my SBEII. Nothing to purchase my third benelli, a 28 ga dove gun.

I have the M2 field very similar to the SBII. I really like my Benelli only complaint the front sight bead is very fragile glass fiber optic. Everybody I know that has one broke it. Just replace it when you buy it or carry a spare. Great sooting and handling shotgun.

Only time will tell as they say. I have yet to shoot or even hold a Maxus but I own a SBEII and love it. I also own a Beretta Extrema and theya re both excellent, never jammed and no real issues on either BUT.......the SBEII is a little easier to clean.

A very common survey pops up around the web every year this time on what is the best/most popular waterfowl gun and it ALWAYS ends the same way with a very close race or tie between the SBEII and the Remington 870 pump. One costs $1500 and the other $300-400. Go figure. The old 870 still drops them. I would like to have one in synthetic black and chambered up to 3.5"

Good luck. By the way... I have heard lots of bad about the Stoeger O/U and SxS guns.
