I went fishing today with my friend Everit on the Severn River at round bay and the tide was midway going out. The wind was 5 to 10 at 6am,so we left Smiths Marina and went across the river just before Eaglenest Point to that grass bed shore line but the fish were small so we left and tried some place new Saltworks Creek. Its about 1/2 mile in from RT50 Bridge on the left and the perch were there 7" to 11" and up.We were using my feather spinner bait and glo-jigs with a float set about 2ft above the jig and no bait.We were catching a fish just about one per cast and in this creek there's not a lot of grass,so look for piers, trees, bulk heads and shade. The color spinner bait we were using was greenchart head w/greenchart and white feathers. I almost had one for the tournament but we couldn't get the net out in time and the fish got off at the boat. The perch was a 14"or bigger but that's fishing, there's always next time. The left side of the creek is better fishing, more open spots with trees and shade. The LY'S are in this creek to, so its a good creek for bait fish for live linning for stripers. We caught about 300 white perch and my friend Everit took home 107 nice perch and all the others we let go.So if you want to go fishing send me a Private Message and we will get togather and go,so good luck and GOD bless our troops.................woody:bigfish::thumbup::yes ::clapping2::photo4:
