8-18 was day two of an overnighter for us this week, but (unfortunately) it was when we had our action - the waters outside of the Washington didn't produce a single sword bite all night. (and out at 500 fathoms, was dirty and pretty darn lifeless in general.) In the AM we decided to head in to the lobster pots that have been around the rockpile, and bail 'em for mahi. If anyone's headed that way, be warned - as of Wed., they had shifted the entire string several miles south. They're still in 50 fathoms, but don't stop where they were last week or you'll never find 'em! And yes, they're still loaded up - every drift we had triple or quad hook-ups on these guys:

After mahi-loading we ran north to our new "secret" tilefish spot, and loaded up on bluelines & bass.
39179 Not exactly the sword dinner we were hoping for, but considering how the tuna fishing has been, we'll take it!
