Will velvet stay on horns when deer is killed?

had one of my big bucks that I have on camera for two years hit by car. Deer was standing at entrance to my property sat when I went in. I knew something was wrong , he looked like a statue. Got within 5ft and he finally moved (2steps). He couldnt walk or lift his head. Let him be for hour came back and he was sitting in same spot. Called warden with no answer so sheriff had to puit him out with a shot to the head. Beautiful rack still full vevet. I want to do a europeam mount with the velvet. Will velvet keep?

im not an expert and i dont have personal expierences but i have seen mounts that are in velvet

There is some kind of special treatment taxidermist use. I have seen mounts with velvet before. I think you have to keep putting stuu on it over time to keep it up.

I've used a taxidermy product called instant preserve that worked well. Had velvet keep for going on 8 years now. You can get it online from any taxidermy supply house like. Just inject it with a needle all thorugh it, but you better hurry. It starts to die as soon as the deer does.

I have a beautiful 8 point mounted in velvet but was done by a taxidermist. It is 10 years old now and still perfect............Gary

Taxidermists used to inject formaldehyde into the velvet to preserve it.

Any Pictures of the moster killed by a car on nine mile road in Richmond. He has twenty something points and is well over twenty inches wide. I have seen a couple of camera photos, and he is huge. He got hit just past B&B seafood.

The one of the left has an interesting hole right in the middle of his head.

The green pants behind the deer in the picture on the right looks like a state issued uniform to me.
