This is an interesting article that says that scientists and government agencies (DNR) says that the female restrictions were responsible for the swift come back of crabs. This is also "common sense" to me. The watermen still want to argue that the restrictions are not necessary:eek2: It's IN YOUR FACE PROOF as the crabs are plentiful again after the two year restriction. Now they complain to have to pick big jimmies to sell in containers as the economy is bad. Whine, whine, whine. My construction business is almost dead. Who do I whine to?................Gary

I was at Cherrystone for a week and it seemed that every crab caught from the campground piers were sooks.

I called one comm crabber that sold several bushels of crabs to a friend early last month ($35.00/ Bu.) and he said he was finished for the year. He pulled all his pots.

Another one closed his business.

Times are tough down there.
