NOAA is pretty persistent. I guess my completed survey didn't get to them as soon as they wanted (it went to MN) and I received another yesterday. It must cost a small fortune mailing an 8x11, 12-page survey complete with cover-letter and postage paid return envelope.
Anyway I say this because I believe it behooves us to log our trips especially since we (Maryland fshermen/women) will be under their (NOAA/MDNR?) reporting requirements. I used to keep detailed logs of my fishing trips 3 or 4 years ago but I haven't since...it got to be a pain so why do it (beside keeping track of areas, tackle, techniques etc., that catch and don't)?
Seems to me we're entering a new era where it will be important to keep precise and factual trip logs if we want our share of everyone's resources.
P.S. - I filled out the survey to the best of my abilty leaving out important information that could have been recorded in a trip log.
