Was wondering if anyone launched out of the new ramps on the Elk River Friday morning? Looked to be a blow out tide, very low! Just wondering if anyone had a depth finder and what the depths were winding through the channel until you got to Locust Point and Triton marinas.
I went to Elk Neck instead and caught a solid bushel in about 2.5 hours, but I like to be around Welshes Point much better.

Not really sure why they spent all that money on a ramp there?
Never have tried putting the boat in at that ramp, only the kayak.
Does not look to be much water up that far.

I launch my 23' CC there, and it is deep enough even at low tide, you just have to follow the channel.
Triton Marina isn't much better, and the elk ramp is alot better priced and a much nicer ramp.
I wasn't out on friday so I cant give you the depths for that day.

Thanks Weber,
Cleaned my prop pretty good 2 weeks ago when I wandered outside the channel at low tide heading out of the the new ramp. Got back in the channel and things were OK.
With the wind blowing north hard down the river the tide was really low last Friday, went to ENSP instead but maybe I was just being paranoid?!
Actually been stranded trying to get to Triton at low tide. Don't use there facility any more.
