Fishing a small, private pond in Prince George's county that's more or less become overrun with hydrilla and snakeheads. First two were around 20 inches (didn't actually measure those). The last was a 29-inch whopper I caught on my daughter's Barbia fishing rod. Take a close look at the picture. A slip bobber and a 1/32-oz jig head. Fish actually hit the bobber the moment it hit the water, but in the process, got hooked on the jig.

Barbecued snakehead fish

Ingredients:

1 Snakehead fish

2 tbsp. canola oil

1 tbsp. fresh chopped cilantro

1 tbsp. lime juice

1 tsp. sugar

jalapeno peppers (to taste)

salt and pepper (to taste)

Recipe:

Lop head off fish. Chop tail off fish. Yank out entrails. Discard. Slice fish down the center. Rinse off blood and marrow. Set aside. Combine other ingredients in food processor. Brush onto fish. Allow to marinate for about 20 minutes. Place on hot grill, skin side down. Cook about seven minutes, or until raw fish look is gone. Eat, but be careful not to swallow bones.
