Seal your concrete and a good 2 n1 padding

Laminate works fine over a slab..Just have to find the mositure content of the slab and work from there,a tip high humidity and Laminate don't mix...

If that doesn't work look into the vinyl plank flooring. i did one in my basement over concrete........looks great, its durable, cheap, all around good stuff.

Check your slab for levelness. Most specs call for no more than a 1/4 in over 10 ft of drop or crown in the subfloor. Dont go cheap on the pad. Cheap pad can make for an uncomfortable floor and shorter life of the floor itself. Check into quick step, columbia (most consistent good product IMO), or shaw. Stay away from home emporium or lumber liquidators. Their stuff is mostly discontinued and runnign line. Not top quality. Get the pergo install kit from Lowes or Home depot and cut your door jambs before starting so that the new floor can be run under the trim. PM me if you have any questions. I ran my own flooring business for 8 years and was in installation for 10.

Mrobertson...where on the shore are you, and hello from another shore boy.

yeah, like Baysider said, use undercut saw and cut off botom of door casing. Use 4 mil polysheeting for vapor barrier, get the best pad available, check Costco for plank price. Get DIY how-to video from Home Depot. Have fun with your project then go fishing. Good luck
