I am taking a friend flounder fishing around "42" on Thursday. He wants to look for spadefish. I do not have a wreck anchor to use at the Cell. I have never fished for them. Would someone please bmail with info on where around Wolftrap light you fish for spades?

Its not too hard, but theyve been a little finicky and picky the times ive tried them this year-- anchor up around the structure, preferably upcurrent of the structure, so that your baits can drift down twoards the structure. For bait, use clams (fresh is best), cut into small pieces (big enough to cover the hook) for hooks, I use red octopus hooks, either 1,2, or 1/0, with fluro leader; sometimes they care, sometimes they dont; I also chum with either a bag of clam chum hanging behind the boat, or some canned clams that you can find at costco or anywhere like that. I begin by covering the water column, using different amounts of split shot, and bobbers, with the hooks under it different legnths; once one starts getting hit, switch all to that setup

light tackle is the name of the game- once you catch one, even a small one, youll never stop huntin em

JWAS1,
May want to go to the rangelight. I'm hearing that they're there also, but as with Wolftrap, go early. It can fill up quickly.
