Got some numbers for the asphalt pile out of the GW sometime back. Not really sure where I got them from, but I did put them into my GPS. Made my first visit on Sunday. Not sure if I found it or not. When I reached my numbers I was out 100 yds. west of a Yellow buoy. On the map the yellow buoy is marking something called the dumping ground. Is this the Asphalt Pile or what. We drifted over my numbers west of the buoy and did lose a couple of rigs by hangups. We did catch some really nice croakers. Again I'm not sure what I found.
Thanks

My numbers put the structure in a pretty straight N-S line running more or less right through the yellow vmrc buoy-- you can easily see it on the fishfinder-- not sure what dumping ground your talking about--- there are two, but i dont think they are marked-- the pile is just inshore of a nice ledge going from 60ish-30ish feet-- not out in the open water- not quite sure what you found, but if you saw structure, be sure you save those numbers!

It seems that the fishing is sometimes better on the edge of the drop off east of the yellow buoy than right on top of the reef structure. A couple of captains think they put the reef materials a little too far west to be most effective, however it does attract some species.
