Where are they chumming for rockfish right now. I found some rockfish at the mouth of the Coan this weekend and caught a nice blue while chumming. It was about 20 minutes between each fish. So where is all the action for the rockfish?

Head north into MD - see the Chesapeake board for MD reports.

Personally I would freeze the chum and save for later date. Rock fishing is really slow. Only bite on chum right now is croaker. The big rockfish have gone away. Not really sure where they went but they are gone.

I chummed the NN Reef for 1.5 hours Sunday morning and got only 1 hit. After that: Nada. Gave up and went to Smith Pt Light and caught blue on the planers. All the action was up north as it turned out later. Guy staying next to us caught a 40 " red drum Thursday "up north" in addition to Stripers and blue - trolling!
