Worked hard to get two nice fish today - a couple throwbacks and a 25" and fat 19" fish in the hot sweaty heat today. We finally could not take it any more and had to run.... home that is. They hit cut bait/ minner combo in 42 feet - you guessed it Kevin - on the blue ! Then, I proceeded to lose the blue magic on the bottom. Arg.
Tried for the spanish at Windmill on the way back but the heat won again - guess the Spanish are getting up off the couch right about now and coming out of the air conditioning, recycling today's beer cans, and stepping out to chase silversides.

Glad you got a couple anyway. I hope to go one day next week after work and try the spanish and blues. Can't work two weeks without a day off and not get some kind of fish fix in.

At least you got something to bring back. We fished in incoming at 42 and could not get a good drift all morning. Only pulled up some big croaker.

Tried calling you Saturday on the radio Dave, you ignoring me [wink]
Glad you got some fishing in. I entertained a bunch of non fishing folks this weekend. We got out to New Point Comfort Light and fished some great looking structure for about half and hour (caught two nice grey trout - no flounder- on red strips of GULP on that two hook rig I make) before two people started getting sick[sad]. Nothing worse for a case of fishing foam mouth than packing it in and heading for calmer waters (it wasn't even rough).....[sad]
I did drink beer and taste salt water on my lips, so at the very worst my fishing fix needs to be satiated. You up for some SERIOUS fishing this weekend? Let me know.....

Dave,
Glad you got some keepers this weekend!!!
There were only had 4 keepers for all the boats in our marina all weekend. Three came from Cape Henry Wreck real early Saturday am and the 4th fish came from the Hump on Saturday!!!
Saturday we fished Cape Henry Wreck and saw a few caught, but the big sharks, small skates, & throwback flounders kept us busy all day.
Sunday was a croaker & spot morning trip.

Kevin - did you see that it was caught on the blue bomber ?
PD - can't go this weekend, we're entertaining out of town guests. Guess I couldn't hear you over the Stones - I was taking all tricks out of the bag and had Let It Bleed turned up loud. Nice work on the trayt.
