BOUNCE-BOUNCE 8/13/05 Report

[nervous wreck]

Wife and I went to the Spike today and bailed the spot. We fished outside the fleet closer to 3R. Bounce , bounce , bounce and spot on. We ended up with a 5 gal. bucket full. Nothing very big but nice eaters and crab pot bait. Then it was off to check the crab pots. Caught 58 beautiful crabs in just 4 pots. Yellow pot caught just as well as the black ones. Crabs steaming as I post this report. Wonderful day I must say!!![grin]

Whats for dinner. Crab or Spot. Personally I am having the Spot.
We hit them on Thursday. Felt like it was as hot today as it was Thursday. We couldn't make it pass noon.

We were there with you at the spike sat along with about 100 of our best friends. Steady spot action until current went slack and we went home. saw you near us at one time. where do you set your crab pots? things have been so slow in Locklies i haven't bothered putting mine overboard for a month. maybe i should try again.

I had planned on stopping outside the Red Barns with Josh and Diane and check the bite before moving upriver to my citation hole. NO GO as the Crew bucked up and wanted to stay at the Red Barns as they were catching two at a time as fast as they could bait and get back in the water. 1.5 hours of fishing and they had me cleaning fish for 3 hours. Final talley after filling the crab pots and giving 12 away to my slip neighbor was 180 fish. Had a tag along that picked me us as soon as I clear the creek that got so flustrated watching us bail fish that he finally just left. Good to see you all caught fish and crabs( I had 30 in my 3 pots)and we also had Spot and Crab Cakes for dinner Saturday night. Hope you Warren, Jim and the guys stay on the fish. Looks like Im going to have to sneak out and hunt Citations as the family has become spoiled to doubles as fast as you can reel em.
