Has anyone seen any scooters or squaws to speak of anywhere in the bay?

It was non stop all day on Saturday. MOstly scooters with a few squaws. We did a blast and cast charter with decoys near E. Bay. We were all rookies and each of us shot a box of shells and we got a late start. Didn't even get to the boat till 7:30 or to the spot till 9ish and it was NON STOP. We left around noon to chase birds and fish some and they were still coming into the decoys. It was Awesome. A friend even cooked some breast with some ginger, and who knows what and he and his wife enjoyed it. Me... I think I'll use it for catfish bait. But hey, we had a blast.
Now... what do you guys use to kill those things. We dropped quite a few birds but unfortunatley lost a few. I mean these things were hit well, with 3 inch shells and #2 shot from 30 yards but some even fell in the water, looked deader than dead and still jumped back up and either flew away or swam away.
The mate said 3.5 inch shells but that would get mighty pricey.... and painfull.
