The Board of Directors has authorized a bonus tournament for 2005.
Due to the great generosity of Boat U. S. and West Marine we have gift certificates to award to the winners. Here is the scoop.
The Boat U. S. & West Marine/NNAC Trophy Rockfish Tournament.
Dates are the last two weekends of November and the first two weekends of December (fishing allowed on both Saturday and Sunday each weekend). The member who weighs in the biggest Rockfish each weekend will recieve an award. The member who weighs in the biggest Rockfish during the entire tournament will also be the grand prize winner.
The weekend winners will get a $50 gift certificate from either Boat
U. S. or West Marine. The grand prize winner will get a $50 gift certificate, a check for $100 from NNAC, and a winners trophy.
This is a free tournament that is limited to only adult NNAC members. Members who actually catch the fish are elligible to win. No guests or youth members will be awarded the prizes but they can fish with you if they wish .
Fishing hours are sunrise to 3PM. Weigh in by 3PM.
Fishing area is Chesapeake Bay from Cove Point, MD down to a line parallel to and FIVE MILES WEST of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel; the York, Rappahannock, and Potomac Rivers; and Tangier Sound. No fish caught closer than five miles from the CBBT are valid for entry.
Weigh in marinas are Lewisetta, Ingram Bay, Chesapeake Boat Basin, Locklies, and Gwynn's Island Boatel as of this time. We will add Smith Point and Norview if they are willing to help. Each member can weigh in one Rockfish each tournament day that he or she has caught.
No days or weekends will be rescheduled in case of bad weather.
Normal NNAC tournament rules will apply. All fish entered must comply with the fishing regulations of the state where caught.
A leader board will be maintained on the Tidalfish Northern Neck board.
More specific information will be included with the November newsletter. If you have any suggestions or ideas let us have them.
