Surf Fishing the DE shore

Heading down on Monday to do a little surf fishing. Hey, you never know, one of the blue ones or one with stripes could run into my bait. I have done pretty well in the past around veterns day so it could happen.

Fished Mon, Tue, and Wed. Very windy, very rough, no fish other than skates and dog fish.

Had the surf calmed down any? It was really rough on Tuesday and Wed. The fish have to show up sometime....right?

They may not, but the conditions right now are your best chance of the year for big fish. The water temp. is just right, the big fish have been up Jersey the last few weeks, so they should be moving by us in the next week or two. With that northeast wind we've been having it should have made some good spots to pick out along the beach. I'll be out quite a bit the next two weeks and I'll post reports if and where I get any fish. Usually the week before and after thanksgiving is your best chance for big rockfish and blues. Let's hope the show up soon. I'll be working the IRI this weekend into Monday and truly hope that things turn around. Eels and jigs are my two main weapons. Tides look decent too.

GL. Let us know how you do. I'm going to start at the northern most spot, the point, on sat. If no go there, I'll be down the inlet on sunday. Then back on tues. and weds. if the weather is good. Look for a red ford truck with the big, good looking guy in it..hehe

Bigf, i will look for the red truck (if that reply was towards me). I have a blue BMW conv. I know, perfect fishing machine. I will most likely work the inlet near the Coast Guard station. There is a little point there that I like to work, not that I have had luck, but I like the spot. If you see someone pulling in a striper, that's most likely not me! haha. Good luck to you. Fished Tuesday, 23rd at the 3r's. Bunker and whole mullet. Fished the last two hours of the incoming tide and almost all the outgoing and then the first part of the incoming up to 7pm. Only one skate. Heading home today with this NNW wind. Might be back after Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful day on the beach temps measured in my truck was mid 70's. Great wx. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving Holiday.
