Thought you guys would like this. My Son Evan got his first Muzzeloader deer last week. A nice 6. Got him with the old style Hawken Renagade 50 and made a perfect double lung'er with the round ball.
I told him "You got it done OLD SCHOOL!"
We have the skull in the degreasing tank now with a couple others doing a nice European mount for his room. It's also his personal best buck ...so far. That was one proud kid.

Congrats to Evan on a nice one via the smokepole. I'm sure it'll make a nice euro mount.

congrats! im only 21 but i remember my first deer with every gun! and how proud i was!

That is awesome! He's got me beat, I've yet to take a deer with my flintlock. Great job!

Josh...me too! His Great uncle "loaned" it to him last year, indefinately. I remeber shooting it when I was his age! That double set trigger takes a bit of getting used to for beginners but once you do it's really a lot of fun to shoot. We are going to try maxiballs in it during the off season as soon as somebody gets some in stock! With BP out, tomarrow we are going to play with it some more, then clean it up and store it until next time.
