OK, I do feed my deer. In my front yard and the kids and I love it. so please don't raze me about that.
Tonight we had a deer, BIG DOE, come by and feed. nothing different about that but tonight she comes back and beds down IN the corn and eats for 45 min. Never seen a deer lay in a corn pile. She is healthy, no proplemb. just LAZY I think.
What say you??

LOL! It's fun watching them from the house. As others have said though, you may want to consider spreading the corn out more to prevent disease. There's no doubt that animals change their habits when being fed. I have a gray fox behind my house that for the past two years, he comes within 20 yards of me at night, when I'm quartering deer. I cut and throw his way all of the scraps his way. I don't know if he smells a fresh kill or if now he just sees my truck backed up to where I hang them and or hears me working, but it's pretty funny.

Deer are lazy creatures and can be made to take a clear path if you place obstructions to the sides. I have a problem as the farmer doesn't cut the corn until January. The deer live in the corn as it provides great cover and also good food. They must come out for a drink and also other food sources. They can not live on JUST corn. Most creatures, including humans, will take the path of least resistance. The only time deer work out is when it's time to jiggy jiggy.............Gary

I've been known to bed down in my dinner after a day of sex and food. Probably the only moment of peace she's gotten in a week.
