Got started around 9 am in the Windmill Point area dragging bucktails and storms. Tight pods of birds and small fish with a few keepers mixed in, but we were measuring them to be sure you know.........got tired of bird chasing so we opted for some structure fishing with limited success......well back to some more birds as the crew was getting antsy for pullage ...visual learners I guess...plenty of bites but they were 15 - 17 "ers with some blues in the mix....... couldn't scratch out a keeper limit for four but we caught dinner anyway and a fair amount of "next years keepers" up to 2:00 pm.....with no sandwiches on board, the crew got hungry and wanted to start the Sat. night cookout early on this day......fun 1/2 day nevertheless getting the striper techniques re-generated for this fall/winter....aye...aye

Wow! I'm impressed. We weren't able to get down this weekend. Hopefully the fishing will be picking up for the rest of us in coming weeks.

And the birds kept up from 4pm through sunset.beautiful sight at sunset with the birds, boats and breaking fish, purple sky and windmill point light. kept two rocks, 20 inch blue and one gull. fortunaly the gull got loose after seveal minute work with the boat hook and cutting the line loose. he flew into my trolling spider wire and flipped over looping the bight of the line around one wing. that was a first. i'll spend a rainy monday cleaning up the old wood boat. hate coming in after dark.
