The weather looks to be a pleasant 61 degrees and sunny but I'll be out there anyways. Who else is going?

I will be out there......Plan is to set some decoys, call at some black ducks early, expect no real response, let the kids blow the goose call while i cook breakfast, eat breakfast, pick up the decoys and get ready to watch VT stomp Miami. It'll go just about like that.....does every year this time. Only variable is.......Will the Hokies show up?

Thomas, got your p-mail from the other forum. The ducks I saw were in the area of your blind, out near the main channel and the power lines.

first day might be ok, but all these ducks will move out in a hurry once they get shot at ...... then we'll need some cold weater to push in some "new" ducks.
I've been deer hunting along the marsh, and I'm hearing plenty of activity at dawn and dusk. Need wind on Saturday

I'll be on the Pamunkey River in a fantastic marsh having a ball with the birds.

I did a solo hunt today. Personal best, 3 mallards (drakes) with 4 shots.

My buddy and I got limits on the Pamunkey. Did not see loads and loads but did get lucky that birds decoyed well. Done around 8:30.

Good to hear about the presence of ducks on the Pamunkey. I plan on hitting the river on Friday. Couple hour haul to get there, but it sweetens the drive. No marsh available. We are on the river across from a big marsh. May have to put out the mojo's and a big spread to see if we can pull any across for a looksee.

One hooded merganser. didn't see many mallards around, and there were decent numbers of geese that didn't give us a look. should be some colder weather arriving on friday and I hope that starts to push some birds through.
