:helpsmilie:I have a Garmin 3010C - three years old. Chart Plotter works find, but the sonar / fish finder keeps losing the signal. Everything comes up working find when you turn the unit on, but after about 3-5 mins, the sonar will lose the signal. Remounted the transducer (seal was broken), it works better, but still is cutting out on me. Any ideas?

Anybody out there? I can't believe I am the only on that has had this problem? I am looking for any and all ideas at this point .... beside buying a new unit if I can help it!

Maybe you should consider calling Garmin tech support. Transducers can go bad and need to be replaced.

The 3010 is just a head unit. You have a different sounder box that operates your sonar. It is either a GSD20, 21 or 22. Anyhow I agree with Steve that the transducer would more likely be the first thing to go. I had one go on my last boat at 3 years old. Call BOE Marine on kent island and ask for Jim

you can get the replacement transducer off ebay for around $45 NEW.
Ive got a pair of 3006's, and the have been nothing short of flawless since day 1.
