good public land waterfowl hunting? help

i was wondering if there is anywhere within reasonable distance of anne arundel county to go duck/goose hunting on public land. i am 18 and me and my buddies like to go but rarely get to because we dont know where to go. i recently got some of my own decoys and now i need a place to try them out. anny help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

You might poke around the DNR site a little, state lands are organized by county here: MD Public Hunting Land (http://www.dnr.state.md.us/huntersguide/publiclands.asp)

There is a lot of public land out there for waterfowl, do your homework though and check out were you want to hunt before you venture out at 4am. Check out the DNR site for maps and locations.

try FISHING BAY WMA or TAYLORS ISLAND WMA, both are worth a try however, i feel FISHING BAY has more area to hunt and has had a better population of birds the last couple of years.

thanks. once the deer gun season is over ill have to check out the public land scene and see if i cant pull some birds in.
