A woman at my hunt club in Waverly fell out of a 15 ft ladder stand during a dog drive. Stood up and shot at a buck. Knocked her off balance. Broke 3 vertebrae. 2 weeks in the hospital.
No deer is worth dying or being severly injured for.

i agree, a man in my hunt club fell out of his stand a couple weeks ago as well, and had to crawl half a mile back to his truck. BRING YOUR PHONES IN THE WOODS. even if you dont keep them on, bring them with you!

Opening day in MD was a blow out. 10-20 sustained with 30 gusts. None of my buddies or I scored but today is a new day!........Gary

Sorry guys, but maryland sucks. We already have 2 weeks of gunseason under the belt in Virginia.
I think you have too many democrats up there.

Glad you like Va hunting season but there's no need to bash MD or bring politics into a thread about trees stand safety...........Gary

Ya, no need for that. Im a VA resident and I dont like hunting early in the year, its too hott outside when chesapeake season comes in... im not into getting ate up by mosquitos while im in my stand.

see the second post on this string. I paid homage to the safety issue.
And poster #7 is right, a bunch of skeeters in Virginia the first two weeks.
But I stand by my original remark..Way too many Democrats in MD.
