I sat and watched 18 deer come by me in thick cover Saturday morning till the wind picked up. Not one buck except for a spike and an ugly buck in the evening. I was thinking that it should be soon for some of the young does to start things back up. The woods were dead this morning in the same spot until 9:30. Had a young eight chasing the hell out of a small doe. They circle me three times. The poor girl was exhausted! I enjoy taking video with my cell, but need to bring with me a real camera to catch stuff like this.

It's hard to say now that dog season is in but the bucks I've seen the last to weeks were still stinking and the tarsal glads were still pretty dark so I'd say yeah but they're probably chasing at night

Saw two does get chased accross a busy road yesterday while driving. They almost crashed into a biker on the bike path next to the road too. I eventually saw the buck and it was a spike. Is this the second wave? I'd say so because in this area I saw the peak in early November.

LOL! My buddy shot a nice eight on Saturday. He had one hell of a gore from an antler to the throat. Not sure if he was wanting any part of hanging out with the buddy who did that to him!

My last week of hunting has been very in-consistant......... Seeing mostly Yearling Button Bucks and Spikes chasing yearling does around..... My buddy shot a scrub 5 pointer that was chasing 2 does on Saturday. This buck was thin from chasing, tarsal glands were BLACK, and he stunk to high heavens...... I cant grasp a pattern right now....... Full Moon?, Weather Fronts?, Maybe nighttime rutting?, or Mature Bucks have the Mature does locked up???? This has been a tough week for me.

Did field work yesterday (Monday) at the same place I posted some pics a while ago 2 fellas who are gonna be safe... (http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/showthread.php/292293-2-fellas-who-are-gonna-be-safe-and-sound-come-deer-season?highlight=). The small one (turned out to be an 8pt) walked within about 10 feet of us while we were working and just hunt out. He stank...the deer that is, not my buddy Scott in the picture.
