My son shot a banded Canvasback drake in Louisiana over Thanksgiving and I'm looking for a taxidermist to have it mounted. I live in Newport News, but anything between Virginia Beach and Richmond is reasonable drive to find someone who does good work. Appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

Kings Tax in Chesterfield does a good job on birds.

Piedmont Taxidermy in Sandston is the best taxidermist around. No question. Never seen his equal on deer. His turkeys and largemouth bass are phenomenal and his ducks are perfect. Jamie, (804) 328-0512.

george hipes in richmond is great. check out his website http://www.tailfeatherstaxidermy.com/. he has done 3 birds for me, a hoodie, a greater scaup, and a goldeneye. you can see the goldeneye on the website. great guy to work with, and i believe he hunts some in the VA beach area.

3rd on Piedmont - he has done deer and ducks for me over the years - I have a canvasback drake he did for me ten years ago - it still looks great!
