A bit rought out there. Headed north at 1st light trolled 40'-80'. No takers. Saw scattered birds. Few other boats. Marked a few fish. Quit about noon. Wind had slowed some. Did see some ducks and lots of geese in Northumberland fields. Felt like we got beat. Better luck to y'all.

We had he same experience at cbbt today. Worked hard to get four keepers. No bird beehives from 1st island to high rise.

Cutbait, would have been with you yesterday but we decided it was blowing too hard and never left the dock. After spending the night, had a big breakfast and drive back to Fredericksburg and went to work.

Coan Ranger, smart move. We were in a 24' Parker and the 1st 2 hrs were hairy.

We fished Rappahannock yesterday from Towles Pt. to Windmill Pt. light. Only place we found bait was in 45+ feet at Butler's Hole, and off south side of the WP bar. Could see lots of birds out beyond the bar to the east with binocs but when we hit 3+ foot waves with my 17 foot boat we said "uh-uh" and turned back. Only pulled in 2 throw-backs all day. Hope any trying tomorrow have better luck.

bob g, better to come back with no fish than not come back at all. smart move to stay in the river. we got beat up on a 29' rampage at cbbt in the morning before the wind laid down.
