End of season is here and I usally kill some doe at the end of season to fill freezer and help population. Yesturday morning had some deer 60 yds and decided to take one. Doe dropped and after 20 minutes the others returned, dropped a second. Got down cleaned deer and hung in the yard at my cleaning shed. After dinner take out trash and 1 deer gone. In the snow I see trail and wonder about critters or coyote. grab gun and flashlight and follow snow trail. As I start in the woods I see foot prints. Trail leads down in gully behind house and up to a dead end street where a vehicle was sitting. First time I have heard of anything like this happening. Go back and call sheriff but nothing they could do. Chain second deer to hanging rack and go in to get warm. I know times are tough but I would have gladly cleaned the deer and given it to a needy family. DONT STEAL . Just ask. Walt

Sorry to hear about that one. I am like you. I would gladly give a hungry person a deer BUT if you steal one, you might find yourself hanging next to the one you left.:eek2: I have heard about things like that happening in the woods but never in some ones yard. That gives you an excuse to go hunting again:thumbup:........Gary

Many years ago my sons & i hunted Liberty watershed before access to our hunting area was closed, my son & a friend both had deer stolen they had shot. I couldn't believe someone would stoop so low, we also lost three treestands to thieves.

Wow, that's crazy! Guess they couldn't find a dead one on the road to take. Then again, you had already done some work for them. Can you see where you hang your deer from the road or do you think they were hunting in the woods behind your house?

that's really sad most of us would gladly give deer away to anyone in need, it's pretty low to just steal it
