Has anyone tried for sea ducks in the mid bay area (Annapolis to above the BB) this year? Wondering if there are many around. Thinking about getting a party together but didn't want to go if it's not worth it.

Thanks,
John

Been seeing rafts of blackheads around the BB sh*t pipe for last few days. Seem a bit early this year. Good luck!

A bit early? We did a blast and cast charter out of Kent Island in late October and had action all day until we left at noon. We had out three or four rows of decoys and the birds just kept coming all morning long.

On December 11th I went out of Breezy poitn mariina. Didn't make it 100 yards from the ramp and saw Scooters and other sea ducks everywhere. CCNPP rip was filled with them and there were groups of 50 or more every mile or so it seemed. Up until about 10 am shots could be heard regularly all morning long.

I've only gone sea duck hunting one time and that was this October but I will say that is something to show people who are new to hunting or water fowl. Talk about action.

Thanks. I've been looking for a guide in the Rock Hall area and found one but he's been focused on goose hunting and has not checked in the area yet thru some of his waterman contacts. He indicated that there was a plunge in the population a few years ago and not many people are hunting them in the area these days.
