Most of the guys have gone to VA Beach and my intel was slim so we started back over at the Ghost Hole Sunday morning Picking up one 20incher. Just felt I wasn't were I need to be so worked back to cut and down to a bite at 59A. Half way down I hit a 50 yard dense pod of bait and as we came out the long line doubled with a 35 incher and the second pass through provide his twin. I was laying down marks but lost this pod and keep heading down the cut. 2 miles out from 59a we found our another nice pod of bait and hooked up again on the Long line which was burning off line like a tuna so we eased a turn that way and after about a 50 yard run by the fish we started to make line slowly. I tightened the turn and made a move to gain back about 75 yards of line which the fish gained back 25 of right away. Told the guys check the drag and make no mistakes because this was the one we'd been looking for. 15 minutes late an a few more moves to help my angler out we had the fish at the boat and she sounded. Penn Power stick 330 GTI and 30# ande performed. 5 minutes late got the fish back to the surface and put a good net job on her and the party was on. Great work by the Mate Robert Smith(Who's looking for some work as a mate in VA beach if anyone needs a good mate) to keep the angler on track and calm. Stuck with that pod and had 2 more great knock downs that were big fish but both came undone before we could get the rods out the holders but we did put a nice 10 fish limit in the boat. We'll if you fish with me you know about topping material, the best of the catch always goes on top for everyone to see. In this case our catch was too big for that so the 40#er got a cooler of it s own. First weight citation for us this year and the first citation for Norview this year. Don't know where the fish will be tommorow but they were definitely around 59A today. Pitures of the the 40#er and some of the other fish on my Web site www.misterjspleasure.com under Weeklly fishing reports. 12-10-05

Great report Bobby. Glad you finally found the biggun. I am off Wednesday and Thursday, but the weather does not look encouraging. Might have to try the river.

I just called Green Top to hold me 4 Chartruse Stretches. The fish were all over stretches yesteday and all but one of my big fish came on Chartruse strech 25s. Gray Ghost, Red and white were working for other guys I know catching big fish. Black and Gold is my favorite this time of year but no knock downs on that color yesteday. I normally retire a lure that catches a citation but we kept fishing it an lost it yestday so anyone finding a Chartures BEAT up stretch 25 floating around the Cut it citation catcher. Fishem WAAAY back.

Congratulations Bobby, I guess this means that you won't have to come back in the river. Great catch!

We are planning on fishing out of D'ville on Friday if the weather cooperates. Any sharing of the late week reports would be appreciated.

Way to go Bobby. We caught a citation on Saturday as well, but I made the trip to Va. Beach to get him. We were 12 miles south of Rudee. We caught about 25 fish averaging 33" - 36" with the one slob 47" 40 lbs. He hit a 60 oz. mojo all the rest of the fish came on white and chartruse umbrellas and parachutes. I was fishing on James Brown's 36' Twin Vee. My boat is still in Deltaville I hope the bite stays in the Bay for a while.

Bobby, where there any other boats in the 59A area Sunday catching fish?
I heard two charter boats captains talking yesterday and it sounded like they were having a hard time finding fish.
I'm trying to decide whether to go to Va Beach next weekend or try out of Deltaville again.

Wilson I started our at the Ghost hole and worked down to 59A becuase I heard of a good bite there on the radio. Must have heard of 10 or 12 over 34" fish caught but they were not jumping in he boat. I worked the western side down and caught my 2 35"ers mid cut western side. We got within 1.5 miles of the 15 to 20 boats NE of 59A when we hit the big fish and I stayed in that area until we left and caught fish. I also caught fish from there to Windmill Point trolling in the last hour to cut my run down. some sub- legal 1 legal fish. If my report goes in Times Dispatch this week you see Buddy of mine had a limit upper end of Cut with fish to 42" and another well known Capt did well at 42/ Cell area. Also have heard of a good bite South west of R2 but it seems more off and on. Im fishing Sat if the weathers good and I will be fishing between Windmill and one end or the other of hte Cut Channel unless they've moved or got lock jaw if so I'm thinking 42 as its the right time for that area to be cranking up. Full moon 15th I think that might figure in too. Im not running charters the rest of the year and will help anyone out who calls me if Im doing well. Id also apreciate a call if anyone is doing better than me as I have a 6 year old that says Dad's got to catch him one bigger than that 40#er we had last Sunday. Ill be on 68.

Have a good one
