Looking for a place to either launch the boat or leave in a slip for about a week in mid Summer. I small cottage near by would be even better. We usually keep the boat at Lewisetta and would like to fish the lower river some this Summer.

Thanks, Mushy

There's not much around Gwynns Island. There is the narrows marina but it is in pretty bad shape. But if you just want a slip with no amenaties that may work for you. The marina is at the foot of the bridge going to the island. Preston Jenkins runs the place. There is Queens Creek Marina that is just a few miles by land from Gwynns Island. Not sure if they are do transient slips. Also at the foot of the bridge is a public landing but you have to get there early on the weekends parking lot fills up quick. Not so bad during the week. B-mail me if you need more info. I have a house a little over a mile from the bridge.

You can store it in the Gwynn's Island Boatel if the boat is not
too large. If the boat is trailerable they can probably handle it.

You may try Pulleys Marine there on the Island. The narrows number is 725-2152. The boatel is great I keep my boat there call David or Patty at 725-9343. Their web page address is www.gwynnsislandboatel.com

I keep my boat in Deltaville Marina in Jackson Creek, I look out the mouth of the creek at Gwynns Island....nice place, nice facilities..you might want to call them for a price...they do have transient slips.

Mushy, if these don't pan out you might try Horn Harbor Marina which is a little ways south of Mathews. Some of the charter boats go down there in the early winter for the big stripers after they leave the mid-Bay area. I have never been there so I can't say what the place is like. Dave
