If you are Mac person, check out the new App store for the Mac.
Works just like IPhone and IPod apps .
As an introductory offer, Apple is selling Aperture Photo Editing software for $79.
It's normally $199. It's a great editing tool and compares to Lightroom 2, etc.
There is a free trial period if you want to sample before buying.

You're right. Aperture is an amazing application. At little technical for most, but does offer way more features than iPhoto.
