The post below concerning the illegal fishing outside the three mile limit has churned up a lot of comments concerning the pros & cons of regulations and enforcement. A law not enforced has no power to stop the worst of us doing what is not in the best interest of the whole. If we had no fishing laws, shortly there would be no fish. The word "government" covers the subject of how we as a people give powers to others to maintain order. Without government chaos would reign. Like it or not the US is a country of laws. Enforcing those laws is expensive due to the worst of us.
